As a Security Officer, you will conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior), control access and egress, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, compose reports, deter criminal activity and misconduct and perform other duties as specified in post orders.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A current armed security officer license issued by the State of Florida (G License), Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
  • Successful completion of a mental health assessment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required training.
  • Proficiency in operating radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
  • Subject to a drug screen as permitted by law.
  • If prior military, the ability to provide a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated.
  • Bilingual is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  1. Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
  2. Have current Armed Security officer licenses, issued by the State of Florida and the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
  3. Pass a mental health assessment and onsite drug screening permitted by law
  4. Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  5. Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  6. Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
  7. Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
  8. Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
  9. Aid customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  10. Be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  11. Able to work flexible schedules
  12. Access to reliable transportation
  13. Successfully complete all training required for the position
  14. Operate radio or telephone equipment and / or console monitors
  15. Demonstrate ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
